"I was not born a writer...I was inspired to write throughout my childhood by my family and my teachers. I had great role models! To me writing is an expression of thoughts...it's done with pleasure and enjoyment...and it should be clear and to the point. Writing should be natural and with fluency, therefore, we need lots of practice! So give kids lots of opportunities to write...but make it fun!

Always inspire your children! Inspire them to read...inspire them to talk...inspire them to write. This can be accomplished by modeling as much as you can!
Teachers and parents, every opportunity you get throughout the day READ, TALK, WRITE! Make a list, write a note, send a message, make invitations, cards or banners on special occasions...read and write stories...publish a book (as a class or as a family)!

Always introduce a good book before writing...this triggers the brain with ideas. Always display the writing... that shows them how imporant writing is to you! Children are the future writers of America, and you play a very important part in their lives...you are their main role model...you are their teacher!
